LOS ANGELES ? William J. Genego, described by colleagues as a pillar of the Los Angeles defense community, died Wednesday at his Santa Monica home, attorneys close to him said. He was 66.
Friends said Genego worked tirelessly to uphold defendants' rights and clear the names of those he believed were wrongly convicted.
