Bankruptcy judge to consider settlement between Dewey trustee and former chairman

Dewey & LeBoeuf's liquidating trustee filed a motion Monday to approve a settlement with Steven H. Davis, the firm's former chairman, and XL Specialty Insurance Co.

Alan M. Jacobs, liquidating trustee for Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, filed a motion Monday to approve a settlement with Steven H. Davis, the firm's former chairman, and XL Specialty Insurance Company.

The settlement calls for a $19 million payment from the insurance company, with Davis paying a $511,145 partner contribution. The motion indicated the agreement would resolve all claims the trust made against the two parties.
