Herring Association sues Department of Interior and National Park Service

The San Francisco Herring Association filed a lawsuit against the United States Department of the Interior and the National Park Service today, regarding prohibition of fishing near the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Herring Association sued the U.S. Department of the Interior Thursday in federal court, alleging the agency and its National Park Service arm are making an "unprecedented and extra-legal attempt" to prohibit commercial herring fishing near the Golden Gate National Recreation Area.
