As Job Losses Soar, Small Uptick for Law

Despite widespread job losses that contributed to the highest unemployment rate since 1993, the legal services industry was one of only several sectors that added jobs in December, according to the latest report issued Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

LOS ANGELES - Despite widespread job losses that contributed to the highest unemployment rate since 1993, the legal services industry was one of only several sectors that added jobs in December, according to the latest report issued Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The increase was small - just 1,300 jobs - but reversed six consecutive months of declining payrolls in the legal services industry....
