Federal Judge Lets Bomber McVeigh Stop His Appeals
DENVER - Timothy James McVeigh may end any further appeals and have an immediate execution date set, a federal judge declared Thursday. U.S. District Judge Richard P. Matsch, who presided over McVeigh's 1997 trial, ruled that the mastermind behind the Oklahoma City bombing "knowingly, voluntarily and intelligently" made his decision to end the appeal process earlier this month.
