Report highlights strongest year for IPOs in more than a decade

A new report by Ernst & Young outlined the successes of U.S. initial public offerings in 2014, characterizing the year as "exceptional." It forecasts favorable conditions for continued activity in the capital markets.

The market for initial public offerings in 2014 had its strongest showing in more than a decade, according to a new report from professional services and accounting firm Ernst & Young.


The report revealed that U.S. markets raised a total of $95.2 billion on 288 IPOs, the highest level of activity by deal volume and value since 2001.
