Lawyer pleads no contest to smuggling drugs into jail

Stephen H. Beecher will be sentenced in January for trying to give his client a card containing heroin. The Sherman Oaks attorney could face two years in county jail.

A Sherman Oaks attorney pleaded no contest Wednesday to smuggling over $30,000 worth of heroin in a greeting card to his client in jail.


Stephen H. Beecher pleaded to one felony count for bringing drugs into jail and will be sentenced in January for trying to give his client a card from the client's girlfriend with two packages containing 36.09 grams of heroin. He could face two years in county j...
