Chief justice offers more reserved assessment of judiciary's funding fight prospects
In a talk with reporters Tuesday, Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye suggested the judiciary's aggressive funding plan in January would likely serve only as a set of guidelines for this year's budget request.

SAN FRANCISCO - In light of California's recent conservative financial forecast, Chief Justice Tani G. Cantil-Sakauye on Tuesday reined in her assessment of the judiciary's funding fight prospects. Her comments during an annual meeting with the press came a month before Gov. Jerry Brown is slated to propose a budget, which will open up a six month fight by state agencies for increased funding.
