Class status denied in lawsuit against health care provider

A state court of appeal upheld the dismissal of a class action alleging a San Diego healthcare provider unfairly charged the uninsured more than the insured.

A state court of appeal upheld the dismissal of a class action alleging a San Diego health care provider unfairly charged uninsured patients more.


The lawsuit alleged Sharp Healthcare engaged in deceptive and unfair practices by billing uninsured patients its standardized rates for services while offering substantial discounts for patients covered by Medicare or private insurance.
