State Bar board begins look at replacing fired executive director

State Bar leaders began exploring how to replace fired executive director Joseph L. Dunn, including whether the replacement must be a lawyer and how much to pay for an executive search firm.

State Bar trustees began exploring Monday how to replace fired Executive Director Joseph L. Dunn, including whether the bar's next staff chief must be a lawyer.


Los Angeles trustees David J. Pasternak and Miriam A. Krinsky said the bar should limit its search to lawyers. "I think it would send the wrong message and the wrong dynamic to have a nonlawyer," Krinsky said.
