AutoZone Stores Inc. was hit with what might be a U.S. record of $185 million in punitive damages for discriminating against a pregnant employee, a federal jury in San Diego decided Monday.
The jury awarded the damages to Rosario Juarez after finding that AutoZone acted with malice, oppression and fraud in retaliatory behavior toward the worker.
