Counterfeiting presents growing problem, ACC panelists say

From bogus websites to ripoff products, the practice has only gotten more common in recent years, speakers said. But some new weapons are aiding in-house counsel in their fight against fakes.


The number of attorneys focused exclusively on company brand protection may be small - perhaps around a thousand lawyers - but counterfeiting is a growing problem, said panelists for an intellectual property session at this week's Association of Corporate Counsel conference in Los Angeles.
