Pro-death penalty group seeks to expedite state regulations for death penalty

In a petition filed with the Sacramento County Superior Court, the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation called for swift action by corrections to implement a single drug, barbiturate-only method of execution.

A Sacramento-based legal nonprofit that vocally supports the death penalty has asked a court to step in and force the state corrections department to expedite regulations for executions, which have been on hold since 2006.
