TEMPE, Ariz. - Economic activity in the services sector improved for the second consecutive month, according to a report by the Institute for Supply Management. The Non-Manufacturing Index had a reading of 53 percentage points in February, a 2.5 percent increase from the previous month, indicating expansion in the services sector. Business activity and new orders, two components of the services index, increased for the month, while the employment index was 4 percent higher.
