State Bar Panel Upholds Suspension For Santa Clara Prosecutor

Benjamin Field's license to practice was suspended for four years after he was found to have withheld exculpatory evidence and committed other misconduct in four cases he prosecuted.

SAN FRANCISCO - A State Bar disciplinary panel has upheld a judge's recommendation suspending former Santa Clara County prosecutor Benjamin Field for four years.

Field, found to have withheld exculpatory evidence and committed other misconduct in four cases he prosecuted, had appealed his case to the State Bar's Review Department, hoping for more lenient discipline.
