LOS ANGELES - The U.S. Senate on Thursday confirmed Los Angeles Police Department Inspector General Andre Birotte Jr. as U.S. attorney for the Central District of California.
Once Birotte is sworn into office, he will be the top federal prosecutor for Los Angeles and seven surrounding counties that make up the nation's most populous federal trial court district.
