Cash-Strapped L.A. Court Poised to Lay Off Hundreds

LOS ANGELES - Los Angeles County Superior Court could begin laying off 330 court employees as early as next month, the first of what is expected to be several rounds of cuts and courtroom closures to offset a $79 million budget deficit projected to balloon to $139 million by 2013.
