New Thelen Reid Chairman Maps Out Practices' Future

        With an uncertain economy and some law firms struggling to survive, Thomas Igoe Jr. hates to think what would have happened if New York's midsize Reid & Priest hadn't merged with San Francisco's Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges.
        Fortunately, Igoe says, the two firms did so in 1998, becoming Thelen Reid & Priest.
