U.S. Forest Service agrees to abandon project in Upper Echo Lake

Threat to endangered Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog cited as issue.

The U.S. Forest Service agreed to abandon a project that threatened the habitat of the endangered Sierra Nevada yellow-legged frog as part of a settlement reached Tuesday, ending a lawsuit over the project, which sought to remove trees and brush in Upper Echo Lake that could fuel a wildfire.
