California legal employment remains flat

The California legal industry shed 200 jobs in August, according to the most recent data from the state's Employment Development Department. This marked the first time legal employment in the state has backslid since February.

Legal employment levels remained stagnant on the national and state level in the most recent jobs reports. The industry's employment outlook has greatly improved since the recession but upward momentum appears to have slowed in recent months.
