The commercial bail bond industry often claims that it protects public safety at little to no cost to the public. These are certainly admirable goals. The problem is that commercial bail bonds do not - and cannot - deliver on those goals. Unless the industry changes to increase the transparency and accountability of commercial bail bonds, the industry cannot deliver on its promises.
