Tech Firm Strikes Back at Holding Company

Intellectual Ventures, which has for years acquired and licensed patents without heading to court, is now enmeshed in litigation on both coasts.

PALO ALTO - Intellectual Ventures LLC, a holding company that has for years acquired and licensed patents without heading to court, is now enmeshed in litigation on both coasts.


Xilinx Inc., a San Jose-based technology company, filed a lawsuit earlier this week seeking a declaratory judgment that Intellectual Ventures' patents are invalid or that Xilinx does not infringe on the patents.
