SF Asbestos Department Clearing Backlog

One year after it was launched, San Francisco County Superior Court's asbestos department seems to be making serious headway. In 2010, the department eliminated its backlog of 557 asbestos cases.

SAN FRANCISCO - Roughly a year since it was launched, San Francisco's new asbestos department has wiped out a backlog of more than 500 cases and now uses thousands fewer jurors, court officials said.
