Former Laywer Sentenced in Scam Case

A former lawyer who admitted to practicing law without a license and cashing bogus checks has been sentenced.

A former Los Angeles-area lawyer who admitted to practicing law without a license and cashing bogus checks was sentenced to 120 days in jail and three years of probation.


Glen Robert Burgstein, 56, pleaded guilty earlier this month to one count each of unauthorized practice of law, grand theft of personal property and forgery. Prosecutors dismissed four counts as part of the plea deal.
