State Seeks to Discipline Foster Mom

Following a lengthy investigation, state officials have taken legal action to revoke the license of a Santa Barbara County foster mother who last year allegedly administered an overdose of barbiturates to a 2-year-old Los Angeles County foster child . When admitted to Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara in January 1999, the toddler was comatose, suffering from acute liver failure, profound hypoglycemia, severe brain injury and uncontrolled seizures.
