Allstate Given $3M Award for Fraud Scheme

A federal jury has awarded Allstate Insurance Company $3 million, finding that an independent insurance adjuster and two construction company officials conspired in a kick-back scheme to defraud the insurance giant by submitting bogus or exaggerated claims for stabilization of properties damaged in the 1994 Northridge e arthquake.
