Losing plaintiff in disability suit must pay defendant's attorneys fees, state Supreme Court rules
A wheelchair-bound plaintiff who brought a disabilities access lawsuit against a small grocery store and lost must pay the store's owner attorneys fees, the state Supreme Court ruled Monday in a unanimous decision.




The ruling conflicts with a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decision that only requires plaintiffs to pay defendants' attorney fees if the court deems their lawsuits frivolous. The divided rulings could entice more...
