9th Circuit asks for help to decide if property owners must have defibrillators around

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Tuesday voted 2-1 to duck the question of whether commercial property owners have an obligation to keep defibrillators on hand and ask the state Supreme Court to decide.

Defibrillators zap stopped hearts and save lives - but do California commercial property owners have a legal duty to keep the devices on hand for emergency customer first aid?
