DeGrave sworn in as CAL-ABOTA president
Founding partner Douglas M. DeGrave of Poliquin & DeGrave LLP was sworn in last month as the 2013 California American Board of Trial Advocates Chapter (CAL-ABOTA) president. Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye performed the ceremony during the CAL-ABOTA conference at the Mauna Kea Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. "I am honored to serve CAL-ABOTA as president for 2013," DeGrave said during his installation. "This is a difficult time for the judicial branch and our system of civil justice. There are people, some of whom even serve in government, who have forgotten that the judicial branch is a co-equal branch of government, not a lesser department. We hope to change that misunderstanding of our Constitution."
