A number of superior courts across the state have recently announced reductions in service and layoffs as they continue to adjust to deteriorating budget conditions.
Placer County Superior Court plans to terminate all 10 of its court reporters in February. Court Executive Officer Jake Chatters said the layoffs are part of an effort to address the court's $2.3 million deficit.
