On March 12, the city of San Bruno agreed to accept $70 million from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. as a settlement for the September 2010 explosion of a natural gas pipeline that killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes.


The city also agreed to cap at $50 million a separate trust fund it worked out with PG&E to cover the cost of repairing the physical damage caused by the blast.
