Oil company hit with criminal charges over spill
The Los Angeles city attorney's office said Friday it is filing criminal changes against Brea-based Brea Canon Oil Co. and three of its executives over allegations it spilled oil and contaminated water into a local waterway.

The Los Angeles city attorney's office said Friday it is filing criminal changes against Brea-based Brea Canon Oil Co. and three of its executives over allegations it spilled oil and contaminated water into a local waterway. Last December, 245 gallons of crude oil and toxic water leaked from one of the company's underground pipelines and entered county flood channels, the office said.
