BASF holds diversity summit and awards reception

The Bar Association of San Francisco's (BASF) Equality Committee held a diversity summit on Nov. 13 to prepare for the 2015 Goals & Time tables report on diversity in the legal profession. The summit, titled "Unmasking Diversity," included two panels and seven working group discussions. Panelists included Krystal Bowen of Bingham McCutchen; Bakari Brock of Twitter; BASF President Kelly Dermody of Lieff Cabraser, Heimann & Bernstein; Andrew Hinton of Google; Josetta Jones of Chevron Corporation; Steven Lowenthal of Farella Braun & Martel; Raymond Marshall of Bingham McCutchen; Christophe Mosby of Hewlett-Packard Company; Michael Tubach of O'Melveny Myers; and Robert Van Nest, Keker & Van Nest. The afternoon sessions concluded with the 2012 Minority Bar Coalition Unity Awards Reception. The awards are given by bar associations that belong to the Minority Bar Coalition to members who showcase dedication to working in a unified manner to advance the cause of diversity within the legal profession.
