SAN FRANCISCO - Del Norte County's district attorney caught a possible break on Thursday when a witness refused to testify against him in a State Bar corruption trial.


Among seven corruption charges brought by State Bar prosecutors, District Attorney Jon M. Alexander is accused of talking to a defendant in a case he was prosecuting without the permission of her attorney.
