Riverside County begins search for new public defender
Several local defense attorneys have expressed interest in the job previously held by Gary Windom, who abruptly stepped down earlier this month.

Riverside County officials are on the hunt for the county's next public defender after former Public Defender Gary Windom abruptly left the office this month.
The county advertised the position on several job sites last week and plans to send recruitment letters to public defender's offices throughout the state this week, said county spokesman Ray Smith.
