Robert I. Weil Lecture held in Los Angeles
The Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Center for Civic Mediation hosted the 7th Annual Robert I. Weil Lecture, "The Neuroeconomics of Decision-Making-Implications for Mediation," on Nov. 13. Judges, attorneys and dispute resolution professionals were in attendance at the event, which was held at the Los Angeles office of Jones Day. The lecture was presented by Antonio Rangel, professor of neuroscience and economics at the California Institute of Technology, and Jonathan Katz, professor of social sciences and statistics and chair of Caltech's Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences. Max Factor III, neutral at Alternative Resolution Centers, moderated the discussion. Proceeds from the lecture will benefit the Center for Civic Mediation and youth peer mediation programs. -Connie Lopez
