Senate Judiciary Panel Approves Three California-Based Judges

WASHINGTON - Three federal judicial nominees from California moved a step closer Thursday to confirmation by the U.S. Senate.

      The Judiciary Committee unanimously approved the nominations of Philip S. Gutierrez and Valerie L. Baker for the Los Angeles-based Central District and Lawrence J. O'Neill for the Sacramento-based Eastern District.
