Commission Ousts L.A. Judge for Abuse of Sick Leave

SAN FRANCISCO - The state's judicial watchdog agency ordered the removal of Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patrick B. Murphy from the bench Thursday for lying about being sick and attending a Caribbean medical school while on the judicial payroll, saying his conduct was "reprehensible."
