Kern County judge publicly admonished for violating campaign finance laws

A state judicial watchdog agency publicly admonished Kern County Superior Court Judge Charles R. Brehmer Thursday for violating campaign finance laws during his successful 2008 run for office.

A state judicial watchdog agency publicly admonished Kern County Superior Court Judge Charles R. Brehmer Thursday for violating campaign finance laws during his successful 2008 run for office.


Brehmer's violations included failing to disclose $9,000 in contributions, mishandling a $15,000 loan and missing deadlines to file campaign statements, according to the Commission on Judicial Performance. <...
