The common thread of a successful mediation is knowledge, Infante said.
"Each mediation is different and deserves its own unique approach," he added. "Preparation is critical. The more I can learn about the entire situation, the better chance I have to reach a resolution."
That means reading everything that's sent his way, as well as researching the law and understanding the dynamics involved, Infante said.
