Third quarter venture fundraising down

Third quarter venture capital funding in the United States fell 17 percent, yet saw an increase of 23 percent in the number of funds participating, according to a study released Tuesday.

Fundraising by U.S. venture capital firms fell 17 percent in the third quarter, even though a greater number of firms secured funding than in the previous quarter, according to a recent study by the National Venture Capital Association and Thomson Reuters.
