Broadcom co-founder's tax shelter lawsuit dismissed

Broadcom Corp. co-founder Henry Nicholas III's effort to claim hundreds of millions in losses from a tax shelter was rejected last week by a federal district court judge. His lawyer says he'll appeal the ruling.

Broadcom Corp. co-founder Henry T. Nicholas III's effort to claim hundreds of millions in losses from a tax shelter was dismissed last week by a federal judge.


An attorney representing Nicholas, Jeffrey H. Paravano of Baker & Hostetler LLP, said his client plans to appeal the summary judgment ruling, handed down Sept. 21 by U.S. District Judge David O. Carter of Santa Ana.
