Harris Wins Race to Be State Attorney General

Kamala Harris' victory over Steve Cooley as attorney general comes after a long-fought battle. But in the end, his manager acknowledged "there is no mathematical possibility" of winning.

Democrat Kamala Harris' nail-biting victory over Republican Steve Cooley for state attorney general came Wednesday after a long-fought battle that at times put Cooley in the lead. In the end, Cooley's campaign manager acknowledged "there is no mathematical possibility" of winning enough votes to erase Harris' 50,000 vote edge.
