ABA Gets Something to Smile About

The ABA has been offering membership discounts, an effort that has attracted thousands of sole practioners to join, despite economic pressures.

As the weak economy continued to squeeze lawyers' pocketbooks, the American Bar Association this year began offering a 50 percent membership dues discount to those squeezed the tightest.


The effort produced its most striking results in the sole-practitioner category, boosting its numbers to 9,000.
