U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday announced the establishment of the Office of Tribal Justice as a separate component within the Department of Justice.
The move fulfills the requirement of the Tribal Law and Order Act of 2010 that was signed into law by President Obama on July 29, and coincides with his declaration of November 2010 as National Native American Heritage Month.
