9th Circuit appears unpersuaded by bid for habeas relief in Shaken Baby Syndrome case

Judges on an appeals court panel appeared unpersuaded by habeas petitioner's claims that his decades-old conviction for shaking his daughter to death was based on false evidence.

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel appeared unconvinced Thursday that expert opinion has turned decidedly against the reliability of Shaken Baby Syndrome evidence, meaning that San Diego attorney George Schraer's battle on behalf of his imprisoned client is likely doomed.
