Boeing Co. to pay $18M to settle overbilling claims
The Boeing Company agreed to pay $18 million to settle a False Claims Act whistleblower suit alleging the company over-billed the U.S. Government for years on an aircraft maintenance contract by claiming eight-hour workdays that included lunch hours and extended breaks not reimbursable under the contract. Last October Boeing paid $23 million to settle similar allegations brought by another whistleblower.

The Boeing Co. will pay $18 million to settle claims alleging it overbilled the U.S. government on a defense aircraft maintenance contract, attorneys for the whistleblowing employee said Monday.
The settlement announcement comes one year after Boeing settled a similar suit on over-billing at a Texas facility in October 2014 for $23 million.
