Governor’s veto leaves courts with contracting flexibility

Senate Bill 682, which sought to subject trial courts to the same contracting restrictions as other public entities, was vetoed by Gov. Jerry Brown as restricting flexibility in the climate of underfunding. The move drew ire from unions but relieved court executives.
