Apple looks to dodge brunt of $670M damages claim

Hit with an adverse jury verdict, Apple Inc. is now looking to avoid the brunt of a damages claim exceeding $670 million brought by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation.

A Western District of Wisconsin federal juryfound Apple liable for infringing a WARF patent related to microprocessor architecture on Monday.

The litigation result prompted a trial on damages, which began Tuesday.
