LGBT families need more than marriage

Marriage equality alone does not fully protect the legal rights of LGBT parents and their children. Many still states do not fully protect LGBT parents, even if they are married. By Cathy Sakimura

Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender families won tremendous gains in legal recognition and respect when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in June that same-sex couples have the freedom to marry.
